Not only do the tools support developers, testers, and project managers, but architects have a variety of tools designed to make architecting both the hardware and the software layers easier. See how the tools support architects by helping them design the physical hardware layout, the logical software layout, and the layout of the objects within an application. The tools for creating the necessary diagrams and validating application schemas against hardware will be examined, as well as how using these tools can integrate into the overall workflow of the project.

At Mix07, Ray Ozzie introduced the Microsoft vision for Software + Services (S+S).  This presentation will describe the vision for software plus services which brings together the power of local software and Internet-based software.  Application development in the S+S world will entail a new set of opportunities and requirements for developers, who are dealing increasing numbers of devices and targetable runtimes, while meeting the escalating expectations of the user experiences delivered through software. 

 

A mashup is a technique for building applications that combine data from multiple sources to create an integrated experience.  Mashups have gained popularity within the last few years, swept along with the momentum around Web 2.0.  This presentation will the explore history and architecture of mashups, and how you can create mashups for use in your enterprise.  It will demonstrate the creation of mashups with Microsoft Virtual Earth and with Microsoft Pop-fly.
